Ok, so according to this I’ve been stuck in Newfoundland for the last 5 months. The reality of it all is I got burnt out and ill so when I finally drove home on September 26th (my dad’s birthday) I decided to take a break from posting.
For a really long time.
So long that I sort of got embarrassed to come back. But hey, I’m done!

This is what my odometer read as I turned into my parents driveway in Toronto on that faithfull day: 133,413 km (that’s 82,899 miles for you non-metric folk).
So let’s recap a little: when I left home on Thursday May 12th with my dad and drove across to west coast Canada by way of the US. my odometer read 97,533 km (or 60,604 miles) that day. This means I drove a total of 35,880 km this summer (or 22,295 miles)!
What is the actual length of the Trans-Canada Highway? 8,030 km/4,990 miles. Granted I had to drive across the country twice, but what the heck was I doing that I actually drove over 4 times the distance of this country!
When in Trinity, NL I was fortunate enough to meet boat maker extraordinaire and 2007 Order of Newfoundland recipient Henry Vokey.
